During the summer, Trabajadores Unidos had the privilege of participating in the SYEP (Summer Youth Employment Program), supporting a group of young people in an experience of community growth and development.

From the first week, participants received an orientation on the organization's work and program expectations. They met with Trabajadores Unidos staff and began participating in various activities.
Throughout the weeks, the youth participated in workshops on leadership, mental health, self-esteem, assertive communication, and labor rights. They also collaborated on food distribution at Malcolm X Park, an experience that allowed them to interact with the community and understand the importance of social work.
As part of the recreational and wellness activities, we had dance classes with instructor Erick Gómez, where we learned to move our bodies and recognize the value of physical activity for overall well-being.
In addition, they produced educational content, such as an informative video on health insurance, and shared important messages on social media to reach more people.
In their final days, they visited the National History Museum and the National Air and Space Museum, connecting what they learned with history and identity.
The SYEP program is a key tool for keeping young people off the streets and away from risky environments, offering them a safe space for ongoing learning and healthy activities that strengthen their personal and professional development. Through positive experiences, participants acquire skills and values that help them build a future with greater opportunities.
The Trabajadores Unidos team deeply appreciates the participation of this group of committed, creative, and eager young people. This experience reaffirms the importance of creating spaces for new generations to develop and become agents of change in their communities.
