A Tribute Full of Life and Legacy to Arturo Griffiths

Last Friday, at All Souls Church in Washington, DC, a heartfelt tribute was held in honor of the life and work of Arturo Griffiths, founder of Trabajadores Unidos and a key advocate for immigrant community rights.

Hundreds of people gathered to remember Arturo, sharing anecdotes, memories, and experiences that testified to the profound impact he had on so many lives. The event was not only a space of remembrance but also of action, faithfully reflecting the spirit of solidarity and determination that defined Griffiths.

One of the most meaningful moments was the march in Arturo’s honor, carried out “in his style”: with joy, unity, and conviction. The march concluded in Mount Pleasant, at the site designated for the community project Amigos Park, which Arturo had championed before his passing. There, attendees raised their voices to call for the project to be realized as soon as possible, as a living legacy for the immigrant community in the area.

The day closed with a community dinner full of live music, dancing, and shared joy. Between laughter, embraces, and memories, it became clear that Arturo’s spirit remains alive: in his legacy of struggle, in the friendships he nurtured, and in the deep affection he planted in everyone who knew him.
