As a day laborer, you have fundamental rights that no one can take away from you, regardless of your immigration status or personal situation. One of the most important rights is the right to receive fair and full payment for your work. If you work, you have the right to be paid. No one has the right to keep your wages, pay you less than agreed upon, or not pay you for the hours you worked.

It's not charity, it's justice. Wage theft occurs when an employer doesn't pay you for the full amount of time you worked, doesn't respect the minimum wage, doesn't give you overtime pay, or delays your payment without reason. This is illegal. It doesn't matter if the work was for one day, one week, or more—your effort has value and should be respected.
You have the right to:
-Know how much you will earn before you start work.
-Receive your full and timely pay.
-Keep records of your hours and payments.
-Speak up if you are not being paid fairly.
Organize, educate yourself, and fight back! If someone steals your wages, you are not alone. There are organizations and lawyers who can help you get back what's rightfully yours. Your work builds communities, grows food, and supports families. You deserve dignity, respect, and justice.
